Our History & Culture
A Part of Life in Hawaii
American Savings Bank is Hawaii’s third-largest financial institution with $6.7 billion in assets. Serving Hawaii since 1925, American Savings Bank provides a full range of financial products and services, including business banking, consumer deposits and loans. American Savings Bank has the second-largest branch network in the state, with nearly 65 branches and 170 automated teller machines.
Our Vision
It is American’s vision to be the involved, local bank committed to helping Hawaii’s businesses and communities grow and prosper. This is evident in our symbol of the kalo or taro, which represents growth, nourishment and strength. The leaf of the kalo plant was chosen as American’s logo to remind our employees and customers that we are committed to bringing vitality to Hawaii’s communities through our financial products and services as well as our community involvement.
