Scholarships
Supporting Our Students
At American Savings Bank, one of our core values is a deep respect for learning. Since 1978, we have supported education by awarding scholarships to students from public and private high schools in Hawaii. In 2006, we started the American Scholars Program to support undergraduate and graduate students majoring in a business-related field.
The $5,000 annual scholarship is renewable for up to three years, for a total of up to $20,000 per student. Recipients are also offered a paid internship at American Savings Bank in their junior or senior year.
In order to be selected, students must:
Be enrolled full-time in a four-year, accredited university
Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
Major in a business-related field
Be involved in community service
Demonstrate some degree of financial need
Applications are available online through the Hawaii Community Foundation website or by calling 808-566-5570. The application period begins in early January and ends on March 1.
