Tons of Food Collected for Island Food Drive

The end of the year is a time when we’re reminded to share our good fortune with those less fortunate. From Nov. 23 through Dec. 23, American Savings Bank worked with the Hawaii Island and Maui Island Food Banks to help make their “Feed a Family this Holiday Season” food drive a success.

Brown paper bags were inserted into the newspapers, along with a message to bring the bag filled with canned goods and other nonperishable food to any American Savings Bank branch on the Big Island or Maui. The goal was to collect at least 25,000 pounds of food on each island to help families in need during the holiday season.
