Beth Whitehead
Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel

Beth Whitehead joined American Savings Bank in 2008 as Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel.

Beth oversees the functions of Legal, Contracts & Procurement, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA)/Community Development, Facilities, Human Resources, Marketing & Communications, Security, and Training & Development.

Her resume includes Assistant General Counsel and Senior Vice President of First Horizon National Corporation, a $37 billion financial services holding company and one of the top 30 bank holding companies in the U.S., and General Counsel at National Commerce Financial, a $26 billion financial services holding company.

Having worked in two complex, multi-state and multi-chartered financial holding companies, Beth’s broad experience includes bank and non-bank acquisitions, contract management, corporate governance, CRA, legal, procurement, records, regulatory compliance/relations, risk management, and Security Exchange Commission filings. Her community service most recently included serving on the Steering Committee and Board of Advisors of the University of North Carolina School of Law Banking Institute, Executive Committee of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis, member of the American Bar Association Section of Banking Law and Chairman of the Board of the Ira Samuelson Boys and Girls Club.

Beth obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Mississippi and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law where she also graduated magna cum laude.
