Alvin Sakamoto
Executive Vice President, Finance

Alvin Sakamoto was named Executive Vice President, Finance in May 2004. He oversees the functions of the Treasury Division, Accounting, Strategic Planning and Analysis and Business Intelligence departments.

He joined the Bank in 1986 as Assistant Controller, was promoted to Vice President, Controller in 1987 and became Senior Vice President, Finance in 1997.

Alvin is a Director and Treasurer of the Institute of Human Services, Trustee and Vice President of Administration and Finance for the Public Schools of Hawaii Foundation, and a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants, the Hawaii Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Hawaii Chapter of Financial Executives International, and the former President of the Financial Managers Society.

He is a 1997 graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School where he earned top honors. Alvin received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Master’s in Accounting at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
