A Student Secured Visa® card from American Savings Bank is our way to help students build credit. You can request this card if you’re at least 18 and a full-time1 undergraduate or graduate student at a college or university and can provide us with evidence of your status. We encourage both U.S. residents and foreign students to apply.2

With a no-annual-fee Student Secured Visa, you won’t have to carry around a lot of cash or dip into your personal savings. Your card works like a regular Visa except that the line of credit is secured by funds held on deposit in your Statement Savings account at American Savings Bank. To serve as collateral, you must have a minimum balance in your Statement Savings account at least 110% of your card’s credit limit.
