American Savings Bank utilizes state-of-the-art protection measures to safeguard your information online:
Encryption — Once logged in to Online Banking, your transactions are encrypted to protect against interception using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and 128-bit encryption. This technology scrambles the communications between your computer and the server, generating messages unreadable to anyone outside of the secure environment who should not have access to them. There are two ways to check that your Online Banking session is secure:
- A closed, or locked, padlock — usually located in the lower right hand section of your browser window — indicates a secure connection
- Look for https:// at the beginning of the Website address or URL in your web browser; the “s” in "https" means it is secure
For maximum security, American Savings Bank recommends the use of the latest commercially accepted browser versions offered by Microsoft or Netscape. Upgrading is quick, easy, and free.
Custom User ID and Password — Once enrolled in Online Banking, select your own User ID and Password. You can change your User ID once thereafter and your Password can be changed as often as you like.
We recommend that you change your Password every 90 days and do not disclose it to anyone.
Timed Log-Off — If you forget to log off, your Online Banking session will automatically time out when it has not been used for 15 minutes.
We recommend that you use the “Sign Off” feature if you are done using Online Banking or will be away from your computer for an extended period of time. Also, close your browser to prevent others from using your access.
Firewalls — Unauthorized entry to American’s internal network of computer systems is shielded by our firewalls — protecting the computer network systems that interact with the Internet.
