ASB President and CEO Rich Wacker said the 10,000-square-foot bank will serve as its flagship location on Maui.
American Savings Bank’s newly relocated Kahului branch is scheduled to open May 14, according to a relocation notice in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser on Saturday.
ASB President and CEO Rich Wacker told Pacific Business News the 10,000-square-foot bank will serve as its flagship location on Maui.
“Our Kahului branch is being relocated and the new location is going to effectively be our Maui headquarters, our Maui core campus where we’ll have our training facilities,” he said.
ASB received its $6.5 million building permit from the County of Maui for the 1.5-acre parcel of land at Alexander & Baldwin’s (NYSE: ALEX) Maui Business Park II last year.
ASB purchased the parcel located at 150 Hookele St., near Maui’s first Target store for $4 million in 2014.
Maui Business Park II, which is located in Kahului near the airport and covers about 180 acres, is the second phase of a commercial light industrial and retail park developed by the Honolulu-based real estate company.
Ahead of the new branch’s opening, ASB said it will close its location on at 73 S. Puunene Ave. on May 11.
