
Richard J. Dahl
Richard J. Dahl is the Chair of the Board of Directors of American Savings Bank. Until recently, he was the Chair, and remains a Director, of Dine Brands Global, Inc. (NYSE: DIN), which franchises and operates restaurants under the Applebee’s Bar & Grill and IHOP Brands. In 2017, he was the Interim CEO of DIN and President of Applebee’s.
Richard was also the Chair of the board of IDACORP/Idaho Power Company (NYSE: IDA), a public utility operating in Western Wyoming, Southern Idaho and Eastern Oregon, headquartered in Boise, Idaho. He previously served as Chair of International Rectifiers Corporation (formerly NYSE: IRF), a manufacturer and distributor of power management semiconductors, headquartered in El Segundo, California. Richard was also a Director of Hawaiian Electric Industries, a bank and public utility holding company, until its sale of American Savings Bank.
Richard was also the Chair of the Board, President and CEO of James Campbell Company LLC, a privately held national diversified real estate company headquartered in Hawaii. He was a Director, President and Chief Operating Officer of Dole Food Company, Inc., (formerly NYSE: DOL) headquartered in Westlake Village, California, and Bank of Hawaii Corp. (NYSE: BOH).
Richard has been active in the Hawaii community as the former Chair of the Boards of HMSA (Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Hawaii), Bishop Museum, Oceanic Institute, Pacific Health Research Institute, Hawaiian Humane Society and Le Jardin Academy. He also served on the boards of Punahou School, Kapiolani Healthcare Systems, and Victoria Ward Limited; Advisory Councils for University of Hawaii, Hawaii Pacific University, and Brigham Young University – Hawaii Campus; and state of Hawaii Commissions for: Tax Review, Legislative Pay Review, and Healthcare Benefits & Costs.
In Idaho, Richard served on the Board of Directors for the University of Idaho Foundation Inc. and Advisory Board of the College of Business and Economics.
