Billy Pieper is Senior Vice President and Director of Commercial Banking for American Savings Bank (ASB). He joined ASB in 2021 and has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry.

Billy is passionate about bringing real impact to the community and has spearheaded various economic development and affordable housing initiatives, including ASB’s This is HOMESM first-time homebuyer program and a mortgage lending initiative with the Office of Hawaiian Affairs to expand affordable homeownership access to the Native Hawaiian community.

His commitment to the community was recognized in 2009 when he received Pacific Business News’ Community Leader of the Year award. In 2024, he was named to Hawaii Business Magazine’s 20 for the Next 20 list, recognizing professionals who are poised to make a big impact in the decades ahead. Recently, he was named Hawaii Venture Capital Association’s Corporate Intrapreneur of the Year for his innovative work in the affordable housing space at ASB.

Billy serves as the board chair for Hawaii Community Lending and RiseHI Collective. He is a board member for the Iolani Palace and Daniel Kahikina Akaka Family Foundation and serves on the advisory council for Housing Hawaii’s Future. He previously served as board chair for Bishop Museum and the Ke Alii Pauahi Foundation.

Billy holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an MBA from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He is an Omidyar Fellow and Pacific Century Fellow and a graduate of the First Nations’ Futures Program and ASB’s Leadership Academy.
