American Savings Bank Supports The Polynesian Voyaging Society
Friday, March 21, 2014 - American Savings Bank (ASB) is a proud community supporter of the Polynesian Voyaging Society’s Mālama Honua voyage. From Monday, March 24, 2014 through Saturday, April 19, 2014, ASB branches will be accepting cash donations from customers for the voyage and for each donation of $25 or more, ASB will give customers a complementary eco-bag displaying the voyage route. On May 17, the Hōkūle‘a and sister canoe, Hikianalia, will embark on their 4 year journey around the world.

Wednesday, January 29, 2014 - The Polynesian Voyaging Society (PVS) has been awarded a five-year, $250,000 grant from Hawaiian Electric Industries (HEI) and its related companies American Savings Bank. Hawaiian Electric, Hawaiʻi Electric Light and Maui Electric to support its historic voyage, Malama Honua (care for the Earth), a five-year, around-the-world odyssey by long-distance canoes Hōkūle`a and Hikianalia.
Aloha For Philippines Relief Effort Launched

American Savings Bank to host sporting event fundraiser benefiting Kapi‘olani Medical Center
Monday, October 7, 2013 - American Savings Bank (ASB) is bringing the quirky, competitive Olympic sport of curling and some of its brightest stars to the Aloha State. This unique signature fundraiser, hosted by ASB, will benefit Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children (Kapi‘olani) and USA Curling this year. Two events will be held at the Ice Palace on Thursday, October 17. The first event will feature curling clinics with children from two of ASB’s Bank for Education Ohana schools. That evening, an exclusive fundraiser “competition” is anticipated to raise upwards of $50,000 for the hospital.
